I just received an email from a worker at Bridges of Hope in response to my craigslist posting about selling a microwave. This is a non-profit organization that help "people with developmental and mental health issues to become as fully self sufficient". Bridges of Hope is based in Greenville, NC but have workers all over the state that will come pick up stuff you don't need. One of their major programs is Streets to Home which helps find homes for homeless and gets them back on track. They have found housing for a lot of folks but still need donated furniture.
A few key items they need: queen beds small kitchen tables couple chairs couch or loveseats blankets sheets, linens - towels dishes pots & pans, silverware any items used in a home. (pictures) personal items: toothpaste, feminine products, deodorants etc... cleaners, vacuum cleaners, brushes, etc.. no glass nic-nacs no clothes - I think they have a source for clothing
